Custom Ruger 17 hm2(mach2)

I recently bit the bullet and bought a new Ruger 10/22 to change to a 17 mach 2. I was a little worried because I haven't seen many reviews on this caliber, so I decided I would be the one to write it.
I started with a stainless action and added a Magnum Research carbon fiber barrel ( this barrel comes with the heavier bolt handle and spring that is needed for correct cycling ). I also wanted a thumbhole stock so I ordered a Barracuda in forest camo. Next was a 3 lb. trigger and extended magazine release. I topped it off with a BSA Sweet 17 2-7 power scope. This has a bullet compensating turret on top to adjust for shots 100 yds to 275 yds.Truly a beautiful gun, but how would it shoot? It took me about 10 days before I could try it out and it was driving me nuts waiting!
So today I found time to take it out and do a proper break-in on the barrel and sight it in. After a few frustrating minutes to find where I was hitting ( too lazy to use a bore sight ), it was just a matter of time to get it dialed in. I must say I am impressed with this gun for accuracy and tight groups. I shot prone in the pickup bed with a bipod and some jeans rolled up under the stock. I really think that the crisp trigger makes this a great weapon and I'm sure under optimal conditions even tighter groups could be acheived.
This is 25 yards, 10 round group under a dime. This is at 50 yards, 5 round group under a quarter.
I have a 100 yard target that is under 3 inches but I know I can do better so I won't post that one. That is a dead ground squirrel at 100 yards!
Obviously the 17 grain bullet is too small for anything big, but I have yet to shoot at any game with it. At least I know that the gun is capable if I can keep her steady. I will post an update after my next hunt with this one and let you all know how well this caliber works.
