Ist Annual Varmint Finders Varmint Safari
The First annual Varmintfinders safari was held this last summer on the first weekend in June.  on the plains of Wyoming. on Wyoming hotspot listing #4.We had 14 people show up (some not pictured) and we camped overnight. Some brought tents and some brought trailers. The purpose of the Safari was to get together and know some of the people who we have been associated with like our scouts and administration and some others they wanted to bring along and have some fun Varmint hunting and camping. For those who were novice to the sport we spent alot of time teaching shooting Techniques and target aqusition skills, like how to find them and spot them.

We had some great eats. Dinner consisted of " The Varmint Doctors" 24 hour Chili, with Deep Fried  Brats, Baked beans, Macaroni Salad, Potatoe Salad, and  Chips and Salsa  and washed down by the usual Coke products and Barley Pops . Twas as meal enjoyed by all. Until the morning when we couldn't stand one another if you know what I mean. For Breakfast The Varmint Doctor Cooked up his famous  Dutch Oven Mountain Man casserole which was gobbled up in seconds. All in All the food was great

As we headed out on fri afternoon some of the guys had never really gotten into varmint hunting. They were big game hunters but had very little experience in varmint hunting. Some of us took it upon ourself to really help them out. One individual got his first P-dog  at 300 yds with a 30-06 shooting 125gr  Sierra pro hunters. Once he figured it out he had a blast. I let him use my custom 243 and he then commenced to pulling out all the stops . The most popular guns there was the 223. a couple 243.s and 308.s  2  22 Hornets and a buch of 17 hmr's and 22 mags most everbody shot 200 rnds or so thats about 2800 rnds for the day. (of course the less experenced guys hit alot less than the others)

Around the Campfire we all took turns telling hunting  stories and creating memories. This is always one of the best times during an outing. Of course the Varmint Doc was telling about the Boone& Crocket  Prairie dogs he has taken in the past, and Loke about his famous "rabbit hunt" which I have heard from all who were there in great detail about it and how it will never be topped so I dont doubt the truthfulness of it at all.

All in all It was pretty successful trip. I can't wait to do it again this year Except this time we want more people to come out!!!
