Remington 597 22 mag
My fascination with the 22 mag began 25 years ago on a deer hunt when mu uncle said" boy if you kill a deer with that gun I'll eat my shorts with ketchsup." Ever since then I have been drawn to the 22 magnum and have either owned one or had acess to one for me to shoot.
After getting my first varmint rifle, a Remington Varmint Special in 22-250 , I started looking for a close up walking type varminter. I settled on a
We Found this sweet looking Remington 597 22 mag with a laminated stock and Heavy barrel at a local gun store and immediately picked it up. Upon further and close examination the rifle revealed some awesome features. First the stock is very comfortable and also very attractive. It looks like a nice rifle as it should. The magazine release is in my opinion one of the best on the market. The magazines come right out with out a hitch which is a nice feature in a heated varmint shoot. The action is very smooth and feels very strong. It feels and looks like a great weapon.
Once we get a 4-16X40 Tasco world class on it we head out to test it. Once sighted in it posted some very impressive groups. And was a real treat to shoot. All groups are 75 yds 7 shots

CCI 30 jhp+v
In short this is a great shooter and a great looker. I cant wait to the fields with it this spring.
